SABRIL (vigabatrin) is a prescription medication used with various other treatments in adults and children 2 years of age and older with refractory facility partial seizures (CPS) that have not reacted well enough to several other therapies and if the possible benefits outweigh the threat of vision loss.
It is suggested that your doctor test your (or your kid's) vision before or within 4 weeks after beginning SABRIL and at least every 3 months during therapy until SABRIL is stopped. Inform your doctor if you or your child have any type of side effect that troubles you or that does not vanish.
Tell your healthcare provider if you are expecting or plan to obtain expecting. If vision screening can not be done, your healthcare provider may continue prescribing SABRIL, but will certainly not be able to watch for any kind of vision loss. If vision examinations are not done routinely, your healthcare provider might quit suggesting SABRIL for you (or your child).
